Ladies 1s v Rugby and East Warwickshire (A) won 4-2
Midland Premier
Having taken a point from their first game with a 1-1 draw with Litchfield. The ladies first team won their first game on the road with a 4-2 win at Rugby and East Warwickshire.
Laura Donaldson scored the first goal, before Rugby and East Warwickshire levelled at the end of the first half from a short corner.
Donaldson then regained the lead for North Notts with a well-worked team goal and the side never looked back as Amy Butler scored from a short corner before Dani Roe put North Notts into an unassailable lead with a counter-attacking goal.
Rugby and East Warwickshire did peg one back from a short corner on the final whistle. While early days it sees the team third in the league.
Ladies 2s v Worksop 2s (H) won 1-0
Notts Championship
Goalscorer and player of the match was centre midfield, Geo Beckwith. It was a really competitive game and could have gone either way. North Notts took the lead midway through the second half by putting pressure on Worksop's defence and forcing a mistake on which North Notts capitalised.
The defence held firm, even under the pressure of a last-minute short corner. Former Ladies 1s GK Rachel Hunter-Worral for making a special guest appearance this week in the 2s net and made a number of important saves.
After a draw last week, the 2s go into their third league game on an unbeaten run.
Before the game we observed a minute’s silence at the request of Worksop for Bob Morton, their long-serving umpire, who recently passed away.
Ladies 3s v Nottingham Trent University 2 (H) lost 4-0
Notts division 1
It was a difficult game against the students. Having lost 12-0 the week before the score showed some encouragement and with Kaz Andrews in the goal made some good saves. There were some good moments of play that suggest the results are going to get better.
Ladies 4s v Redhill 2 (A) won 2-0
Notts division 3
The 4s who have a number of new players continued to show their improvement and their ability to compete as goals from Laura Patterson and Anna Bettey secured a 2-0 win against Redhill at Goosedale.
